VILLAGE OF FRUITPORT

Household Waste

The Village of Fruitport has a 40+ year history of contracting with a singular collection provider on behalf of all residents and residential property owners. The Village of Fruitport entered a five-year contract with Republic Waste Services that commenced on June 1, 2023. Continuing to contract with a singular collection provider offers many benefits to the community such as lessening wear and tear on roads, noise reduction, and heightening safety.

Recycling and Household Waste Collection Schedule for 2024

More Information

Beginning in June of 2023, residential property owners began receiving invoices directly from Republic Waste Services for household waste collection service. Households will be invoiced twice per year. This is a departure from the past as residents have been receiving one annual invoice directly from the Village. The payment process has been streamlined due to several factors including the March 2023 closing of Fifth Third Bank in the Village of which many residents used to pay their garbage bills. Residents will receive two semiannual (every six months) invoices from Republic. Household waste collection fees will need to be paid directly to Republic and will no longer be an option to have added to a Village tax bill.

The service provided by Republic to all Village residents and residential property owners includes weekly curbside household waste collection, household recycling collection every two weeks, six leaf cleanups per year, and four household bulk item cleanups per year. Weekly yard waste collection will continue to be a separate contract between residents, who opt for the service, and collection provider.

For service and household waste invoice inquiries, please call Republic Waste Services at (877) 698-7274 or go to www.republicservices.com.
